The Hull Identification Variety (HIN) is a 12- or 14-character serial variety that uniquely identifies a ship. The HIN is analogous to the VIN on an automobile.

The 1st three digits would be the Producer’s Identification Code (ex. Boat brand name for instance Sea Ray, Meridian, etcetera.). The four digits following that are definitely the manufacturer’s serial quantity for your boat. The 3rd and 4th digits in the finish will be the date of manufacture.
